The Donald Trump campaign on Monday accused the Obama administration of “minimizing” the threat of the Islamic State.
“When the White House says we are in a ‘narrative fight’ against ISIS just days after a series of apparent terror attacks on U.S. soil we should all be very concerned,” Trump spokesman Jason Miller said in a statement, accusing the Obama administration of “diminishing the threat” posed by the terror group.
The White House has “allowed” ISIS to “materialize on its watch,” providing “another reminder that we need new leadership in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism.”
Miller also attacks Hillary Clinton for backing President Obama’s “failed ISIS strategy to the hilt” and calls on the Democratic presidential nominee to reveal “whether she too shares the White House’s troubling assessment of the situation.”
Over the weekend a bomb injured 29 in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, and explosive devices were found in New Jersey. Another nine people were stabbed at a St. Cloud, Minn., mall, and ISIS has claimed responsibility.
