WEST POINT, N.Y. – More than 950 West Point cadets graduate this morning.
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates will speak to the class of 2009 before they toss their caps into the air at the U.S. Military Academy’s football stadium.
West Point graduates become second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. A large number of them are expected to serve in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Gates has been defense secretary since the Bush administration.
