Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and her staff apparently need a few lessons in geography and basic definitions.

On Wednesday, the House minority leader said in the following tweet: “Honored to join my colleagues & [the Congressional Black Caucus] at #USAfrica Leaders Summit to discuss the valuable relationship between our two countries!”

The problem, of course, is that Africa is a continent, not a country.

We just went over this a few days ago.

Recall that conservative circles had a good laugh earlier this week at Vice President Joe Biden‘s expense after he supposedly made the same mistake.

Biden was accused Tuesday of mistakenly referring to Africa as a country and not as a continent.

However, as I noted earlier, it’s pretty obvious that Biden merely misspoke and jumbled his words. Further remarks by the vice president show that he is indeed aware that Africa is a continent containing many nations.

But Pelosi? It seems pretty clear that the person who sent that tweet is a just a little confused and maybe a bit misinformed. But I suppose that’s appropriate, isn’t it?
