Two familiar and accomplished Washington journalists have signed on as editors-at-large for the Washingtonian: Carol Joynt and former WUSA sports anchor Brett Haber. Many had thought Joynt was done with media. But “The Innocent Spouse” author tells Yeas & Nays this is an opportunity she is looking forward to.

“True, I did not want to get back into television media. I’d become a grown-up since I last earned my paycheck from network news. While I worked for Time magazine in the ’70s, I’d never worked for a monthly, and when Garrett Graff proposed the editor-at-large job, it just seemed right. It was the position he had before he became editor, it’s been open for a while, and I know he’ll be a good role model. Besides, he and publisher Cathy Williams both are young and full of ideas for change.”

And as far as Joynt’s popular series Q&A Cafe, she tells us Washingtonian is interested in running the edited transcripts of her interviews. “I put the show on a back burner while I intensively hunted jobs, but now I plan to get it back on track. Jack Abramoff’s public relations person has approached me and he would be just the kind of guest I’d like to interview,” Joynt said.
