LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A now-former West Texas banker who embezzled about $385,000 from customers has been sentenced to more than three years in prison.

A federal judge in Lubbock on Thursday also ordered 53-year-old Donnie Wright of Lubbock to repay the money. Wright in February pleaded guilty to embezzlement by a bank employee.

Wright is a former branch manager for a Bank of America in Lubbock. Investigators say he stole the money from May 2006 through January 2010 via unauthorized withdrawals from various customer accounts.

Wright must surrender June 20 to begin serving his 37-month federal prison term.
