An area businessman was sentenced to 20 months behind bars for the bribery and kickback scheme that shook up the District’s technology office.
Sushil Bansal, 43, chief executive of District-based Advanced Integrated Technologies Corp., was also ordered to pay $845,000 in restitution to the D.C.’s government.
Bansal pleaded guilty to bribery of a public official and money laundering. Bansal allegedly showered gifts on Office of the Chief Technology Officer security chief Yusuf Acar, who pleaded guilty last year. Bansal admitted he spent $700,000 on Acar and other government employees.
