JASPER, Ind. (AP) — A new center for high-tech manufacturing training run by Vincennes University has opened in southwestern Indiana.
State and local officials joined in a dedication ceremony Tuesday for the $12 million Center for Technology, Innovation and Manufacturing at the school’s Jasper campus.

WFIE-TV reports (http://bit.ly/11DXunj ) the new center with 14 classrooms, seven instruction labs and a 120-seat lecture hall will be used for college classes and for company training programs in areas such as computer-aided design and materials testing.
Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann says the center will help students and workers learn technical skills needed for advanced manufacturing jobs.
