LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) — Economic leaders are supporting a master plan proposal being considered by the Livingston Parish Council.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/11IPOQB) that a key point in the plan is a proposed economic corridor.

Randy Rogers, executive director of the Livingston Economic Development Council, the corridor would include land along Interstate 12 and U.S. Highway 190.

The master plan proposes that the east-west corridor across the parish would be zoned commercial and industrial.

Such zoning would aid in attracting businesses to the area, Rogers said.
