The Nationals can continue their mastery over the Florida Marlins tonight in the middle game of this series. Okay – so maybe a 1-9 record doesn’t qualify as “mastery”. It only feels that way after a dramatic 6-4 win on Tuesday night when Washington scored six runs in the eighth inning to rally from a 4-0 deficit. That’s among the top two or three wins of the seasons, for sure.
We’ll see if John Lannan (7-8, 3.41 ERA) can keep the Nats rolling. They’ve actually won 3 games in a row, 7 of 11 and are 9-6 over their last 15 games. Not bad. Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman (shoulder contusion) returns to the lineup tonight. He was rested yesterday after taking a 90 mile-per-hour fastball off the left shoulder Monday night in Pittsburgh.
