FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — State Sen. Wendy Davis will take time out from her campaign for governor to promote her newly released memoirs.

“Forgetting To Be Afraid” hits the bookshelves this week, and the Fort Worth Democrat begins her statewide book tour to promote the book Monday night with a book signing at a shop at Texas Christian University in her hometown.

The book has drawn attention for its details of two medical abortions Davis has had. The revelation by Davis in her upcoming memoir that she ended a pregnancy in the 1990s drew sympathy from top Democrats and Republicans on Saturday, including her opponent, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, who said he grieved for her family and the loss of life.
