Who: David Weprin, the Democrat running to succeed former Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y. What: Asked by the New York Daily News editorial board how big the national debt is, he struggled at length before finally arriving at the figure of $4 trillion.
Why it’s dim: As most Examiner readers who aren’t even running for Congress know, the national debt is $14 trillion and the publicly held debt is more than $10 trillion.
Cure: In this case, an ounce of prevention would be much better. Don’t elect this guy.
