President-elect Trump’s transition team is considering former Democratic Rep. Harold Ford Jr. to oversee the Transportation Department.
A Politico report published Tuesday evening cited two sources who say the liberal politician could be appointed secretary of a federal agency.

“He’s happy doing what he’s doing,” one source told Politico. “If the president-elect called, then of course, he would listen carefully.”
Ford served five terms in Congress, following the example of his father, who was also a congressman from the Volunteer State. Ford now serves as a managing director at Morgan Stanley and contributes as a news analyst on MSNBC.
Ford, who endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, has yet to meet with Trump for the Republican’s vetting process, but has discussed the possibility of an administration post with Trump’s aides.
