Dim Bulb: FedEx Corp

Who: FedEx Corp.

What: After losing track of a package sent from Fargo, N.D., to Knoxville, Tenn., containing a sealed cylinder of radioactive isotopes used in CT scan machines, FedEx notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and FedEx stations in all 50 states that the radioactive material was missing.

Why it’s dim: The search was called off after FedEx officials discovered that the unmarked package had been in Knoxville all along.

Cure: An address on each package would be a good idea. Also, check twice before sounding a nationwide alarm.
