That was producer-director John Sayles and actor Charles Dutton at The Park at 14th on Wednesday. The pair presented their new film, “Honeydripper,” and doled out some political advice.
Sayles, the director of “Sunshine State” and “Eight Men Out,” told Yeas & Nays he backs Barack Obama, but he balked when we asked whom he’d cast as the candidate in a Hollywood version of the race. “The story is not done with him; don’t think about the movie yet,” he warned.

Of his role in the film, Dutton said, “I didn’t even bother to read the script, when I heard John Sayles was interested in doing a movie with me, I said yes.”
