On Wednesday, CNN’s Dan Merica asked Hillary Clinton if she thinks Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel should step down. Clinton ignored his question, refusing to offer the former Clinton aide a helping hand in his time of need.

Merica’s question follows calls from protesters for Emaneul to step down.
As USA Today reports:
The political uproar in Chicago was ignited last week after the Emanuel administration was forced under court order to release police dashcam video from an Oct. 20, 2014, incident that shows officer Jason Van Dyke shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald 16 times. Emanuel, a former three-term congressman and chief of staff to President Obama, had resisted releasing the video, citing ongoing state and federal criminal probes. … But Emanuel said on Wednesday that he didn’t think the civil rights division should move forward with an investigation while the U.S. attorney of Northern Illinois still is in the midst of its probe into the McDonald shooting.
Emanuel endorsed Clinton for president early on, back in May of 2014, before she even decided to run for president.
Emanuel worked in the Bill Clinton administration.
