Police are searching for a man who robbed an Alexandria bank and pedaled away on a bicycle. Armed with a gun, the robber entered the Virginia Commerce Bank on Prince Street at 12:28 p.m. July 5 and demanded money from the teller. After getting the cash, the man fled the scene on a silver mountain bike.
Alexandria police did not release the direction in which the man fled.
The robbery is described as a black man, between 30 to 40 years old and approximately 6-foot-1. At the time of the robbery, he wore a yellow construct helmet, a black sleeveless shirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, and jeans.

Police released a statement reminding anyone with information that witnesses can remain anonymous.
