Yelp users get revenge after Hawaii cafe bans Trump supporters

Cafe 8 1/2, an Italian restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii, received hundreds of complaints on its Yelp page Tuesday after posting a sign on its front door that banned those who voted for President-elect Trump from eating at the establishment.

“If you voted for Trump you cannot eat here! No Nazis,” the handmade, yellow sign stated.

Hundreds of Trump supporters wrote on the restaurant’s Yelp, Facebook and Google pages complaining about the political statement, while others criticized the food and environment.

The owner and his wife, Robert and Jali Warner, told FoxNews.com on Tuesday “we don’t put anything different [in] your food” if customers come in sporting pro-Trump gear.

“Robert just wants to express how much he doesn’t like Trump,” Jali said. “If people take it personally or it hurts them, we cannot help. That’s why we say they have [a] choice if they want to come or not come. We don’t force them.”

“We don’t want to create trouble,” Jali said. “There is enough trouble in the world.”

The restaurant’s negative reviews could significantly drive down its overall rating.
