If Daniel Craig gets any cuts, bruises or scrapes while he films “Quantum of Solace,” it probably will be a doctor from George Washington University Medical Center who patches him up.
One GW doc has always been on the set of the new James Bond flick since filming began in Panama a few weeks ago, and they rotate out in two-week shifts. They’ll be following the production team as it travels to Chile next month.

What’s the connection? That would be Dr. James D’Orta, the chairman and chief executive officer of Consumer Health Services and a faculty member at GW, who used to train doctors in GW’s emergency medicine program. D’Orta’s cousin also happens to be Barbara Broccoli, the daughter of legendary Bond producer Albert R. Broccoli and the chairwoman and CEO of EON Productions, which owns the Bond franchise.
D’Orta, who lives in Georgetown, told us that the actors “couldn’t be more pleased at this invisible safety net and how it’s been integrated into the local medical system. … This is a model program.”
So next time you need stitches, tell them you want 007’s doc.
