MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) — The International St. Lawrence River Board of Control says it will increase levels on the St. Lawrence temporarily to help with boat haul-out on the first weekend of October.
The level has been low for several months.
The Board recently reviewed conditions in the Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River system and has decided to reduce dam discharges on Saturday, Oct. 4, to increase water levels on Lake St. Lawrence by up to a foot.
The following weekend, Canadian Thanksgiving, the board will gradually increase outflows to restore water levels.
Outflow changes are posted to the board’s Facebook site (www.facebook.com/ISLRBC ).
