Heather Locklear was arrested on DUI suspicion Saturday afternoon in Santa Barbara — but alcohol was evidently not involved.
Rather, the “Melrose Place” star was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription drugs.
After a local reported the actress for “driving erratically,” a police rep said, cops found her car pulled over on a highway, blocking a lane.
“In talking with her, the officer determines that she seems to be under the influence of something,” the officer explained.
Heather was brought to the police station, tested for alcohol and drugs, booked and released without having to post bail.
This is the latest trouble for the ageless blonde beauty, who went through a public divorce from Richie Sambora last year, and entered a treatment facility to deal with depression and anxiety this June. We can’t help but worry that she has some unresolved issues.
Leighton Confirms Gossip
Breakout “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester is on top of the world — but her life wasn’t always so picture-perfect. The paparazzi darling has admitted to Us the truth of tabloid reports that she was born in prison, to a mother who was doing time for smuggling marijuana. (Her father was also serving a sentence for the same crime.)
Coming from this background “makes me very nonjudgmental and open-minded,” Leighton explains to the magazine. “And I think it just makes me appreciate the things that I have now.”
As for her relationship with her mom these days, Leighton says, “She’s always there for me no matter what.”
Another genius idea for Lifetime TV movie producers: Leighton should star in her mom’s life story!
Millionaire Matilda
You can stop worrying about whether little Matilda Ledger will be provided for. Relatives of her late father, Heath Ledger, will reportedly bequeath the tot his entire estate, estimated to be worth between $16 and $20 million.
Heath, who died of a prescription drug overdose in January at the age of 28, made his will before even meeting Matilda’s mother, Michelle Williams. He left everything to his father and siblings. But the actor’s father, Kim, told his local paper, the Perth, Australia, Sunday Times, “There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.”
Meanwhile, Matilda’s embroiled in yet another financial dispute: a trustee representing Heath’s mini-me is suing an insurance company for failing to pay up on a $10 million policy on his life. TMZ, which reportedly obtained documents filed in the suit, reports that the company says it’s delaying payment until it rules out the possibility that Heath’s death was a suicide. The insurance company’s lawyers are said to have called his death “suspicious.”
But since NYC authorities have already ruled the death an accident, attorneys for Matilda say this is merely a stall tactic.
So … she’s only 2, and Matilda stands to get her hands on $30 million. Perhaps she should consider buying out an investment bank or two?
Dennis vs. Meg
Dennis Quaid is furious that his ex-wife, Meg Ryan, is dishing dirt about their long-past divorce. Back in the spotlight with her starring role in “The Women,” the actress recently declared to In Style that her then-hubby “was not faithful to me for a long time.”
“It was eight years ago, and I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship,” the actor fumed to the New York Daily News. “Also, I find it regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”
“I, myself, moved on years ago and am fortunate to have a happy, beautiful family,” Dennis adds. (While Meg’s high-profile affair with co-star Russell Crowe — who, she insists, did not break up her marriage — flamed out quickly, Dennis has found love again with realtor wife Kimberly. The couple welcomed twins last year.)
Dennis, give Meg a break. It’s been so long since the poor woman got any press, she’s desperate to return to her shining moment of tabloid notoriety.
Scarlett and Ryan Tie the Knot
Scarlett Johansson, 23, and Ryan Reynolds, 31, were married over the weekend at a remote wilderness retreat outside Vancouver (Ryan’s from Canada, eh?). The wedding was witnessed by a small group of loved ones. It’s the first marriage for both, though Ryan was famously engaged to Alanis Morissette and Scarlett, er, famously scoffed at monogamy. Good luck, you two!
