PHILADELPHIA — Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager laughed at Donald Trump’s oft-repeated intention to win blue states in November, joking that his team would be happy to help Trump pour resources into Democratic strongholds.

“My staff is at his disposal,” Robby Mook joked at a lunch hosted by the Wall Street Journal Wednesday. “I absolutely encourage Donald Trump to spend time campaigning in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.”

Trump reportedly claimed in a closed-door meeting with members of Congress that he would win Oregon and Washington state, and has previously argued he will win California, which has not voted Republican in a presidential election since 1988.

Mook said he expected North Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania to serve as battlegrounds in the election, and said Georgia could soon become competitive after years of reliably choosing Republican presidents.
