Lewis takes time out for art

How does a member of Congress ease his mind during the year’s most contentious vote? If you’re Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., you do it with art.

On Monday, Lewis was spotted touring The Phillips Collection’s exhibition “The Great American Epic: Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series” with National Endowment for the Arts chief Dana Gioia.

While he was there, the civil right hero also met with some young artists from Oyster Bilingual School, Shepherd Elementary and Orr Elementary.  The students have been working on art activities related to the exhibition.
