The report , which was prepared at the behest of the late Franklin Delano Roosevelt and given the sapid, FDR-inspired title “Science, the Endless Frontier,” would become a landmark for modern federal science policy and, in the words of Roger Pielke, “entrenched the concept of government patronage of scientific research in policy discourse.” In the...
