D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray wants all the city’s cabs to be painted red and white, he said today.
The mayor voiced his opinion, reported by the Washington Post, while on a trip to New Hampshire to lobby for D.C. statehood. A new bill before the D.C. Council to reform the District cab industry would allow the city to set a uniform color for all the city’s taxis.
A recent survey published by Councilwoman Mary Cheh, D-Ward 3, showed that 38 percent of 4,025 survey respondents would favor yellow as the color of choice for D.C. taxis. Red came in second with 15 percent.
