New airports authority chairman elected

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority elected a new chairman at its meeting today: Michael Curto, an appointee of the governor of Maryland.

Curto is the deputy chair of the business department for global law firm Patton Boggs. He serves on several other local boards as well as the board of directors for the National Family Caregivers Association. He lives in Potomac.

Charles Snelling, the current chairman of the MWAA board, received a standing ovation at Wednesday’s meeting for his work over the last year, including the hiring of the new president and CEO of the airports authority, Jack Potter.

Tom Davis, an appointee of the governor of Virginia, was reelected vice chairman.

Quince Brinkley was reelected secretary.
