House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters Thursday she’s not worried about Hillary Clinton’s health or her campaign’s level of transparency when it comes to disclosing health issues.
“I’m not concerned,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said without directly addressing Clinton’s recently disclosed case of bacterial pneumonia.
“I think Hillary Clinton, when she comes out today with her usual exuberance and values, will campaign in a very important way to show her vision for America and how she plans to address the future and show her knowledge and judgement and strategic thinking.”
Pelosi also denied Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is closing in on Clinton in the polls, but said the numbers would work in favor of the Democrats by drawing out voters.
“I want Hillary Clinton to have the biggest possible mandate but if the Republicans want to believe this race is tightening, then believe that,” Pelosi said. “The more people believe it’s important to vote in a tight race, the more of them will turn out, so it works to our advantage.”
