NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities say a construction worker has been killed at a midtown Manhattan worksite.

The Fire Department says the man died around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near 37th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

WABC (http://7ny.tv/1mLfAOO ) says it appears the worker was trapped when a concrete wall fell on him. It says a hotel is under construction there.

The FDNY says an adjacent building was evacuated as a precaution.
