Chrissy Teigen blocks 1M Twitter accounts tying her to Jeffrey Epstein

Model Chrissy Teigen cleaned out her Twitter after several accounts spread a conspiracy theory that she had ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Amid rumors by accounts alleging she had flown on the convicted sex offender’s private jet, Teigen blocked 1 million accounts for their efforts in spreading the misinformation.

“I have block chained over one million people, ONE MILLION people today and I am still flooded with sick psychopaths,” Teigen said in a tweet. “So please, spare me the ‘just ignore them, they’re just trolls.”

She added that she may leave Twitter if the platform doesn’t address the harassment.

Rumors about Teigen hanging out with Epstein started spreading as Twitter users began sharing unproved flight logs of Epstein’s jet featuring her name as a passenger. The logs began circulating after Epstein’s former confidante and alleged lover, Ghislaine Maxwell, 58, was arrested on charges of conspiring with Epstein to recruit, groom, and sexually abuse underage girls, as well as perjury.

Teigen, who has a major social media influence and over 13 million followers, said she is worried about the safety of her family amid the rumors. She is married to singer John Legend and has two children.

Epstein, 66, was arrested last July on federal sex trafficking and conspiracy charges for allegedly abusing girls as young as 14. He was found dead in his Manhattan prison cell in August, which the New York City medical examiner determined to be a suicide.

Maxwell filed a request for bail of $5 million last Friday in a court filing that said she “vigorously denies the charges, intends to fight them, and is entitled to the presumption of innocence.” She pleaded not guilty this week and was denied bail by a judge. Her trial date has been set for July 2021.
