MORGAN CITY, La. (AP) — The city’s Main Street Program is giving downtown businesses the chance to receive a grant to help renovate the exterior of buildings to preserve the historic nature of the area.

The Daily Review reports (http://bit.ly/16fO7rV ) program officials will accept applications through April 19 for the chance to receive $4,000 in facade grant money.
The money will be divided among businesses selected by the Main Street District’s board, said spokeswoman Beth Price.
Businesses selected for grant money must put up a matching amount, she said.
Grant recipients are expected to be announced in May.
