In a previous post we told you about how big a game this is for Caps goalie Jose Theodore. Washington itself just wants to build on Tuesday’s 4-2 win over Montreal. It’ll be a heavy favorite with Senators’ star forwards Jason Spezza (torn MCL) and Daniel Alfredsson (separated shoulder) out of the lineup.Spezza has five goals and 14 assists and Alfredsson has nine goals and 22 assists. Both were hurt last month.
Ottawa posted one of its best wins of the season against the Caps on Nov. 23 – a 4-3 overtime victory. This is just the second of four games between the two teams. Washington took the season series last year with a 2-1-1 record. The Senators are also 6-2 against the Southeast Division so far.
