Six protesters were reportedly arrested at a Jacksonville, Fla. protest Friday evening that included demonstrators marching both for and against the recent U.S. military strike in Syria.
Demonstrations against the U.S. missile attack took place at several big cities across the country Friday and Saturday. People marched in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Washington and elsewhere in opposition to President Trump’s military move.
President Trump ordered the launch of a barrage of missiles against a Syrian airfield on Thursday in retaliation for Syrian President Bashar Assad’s use of chemical weapons on civilians.
The move was generally well-received by Democrats and Republicans in Washington, although many Democrats said Trump had no authority to launch the strike. Even Republicans called on Trump to consult with Congress about next steps.
