An employee at a grocery store in Clark, New Jersey, was arrested on Sunday after she allegedly stabbed a co-worker with the largest knife from the deli in front of customers.
Melissa Prince, a 57-year-old from Edison, New Jersey, was taken into police custody and charged in the stabbing of a 24-year-old female employee multiple times at a ShopRite, according to a Facebook statement from the Clark Township Police Department. Prince’s co-workers informed RLS Media anonymously that she had used the largest knife from the deli.
An employee from ShopRite said the “stabbing happened in front of customers, but no one assisted immediately because everyone was shocked.”
The stabbing was allegedly the result of a verbal disagreement between the two employees of the grocery store, the unnamed employees claimed. Prince told her co-worker that she would “finally leave” her alone as she repeatedly stabbed her, the sources said.

“The victim and the suspect have had a long dispute that was known to management, and every employee knew that the pair had issues with each other,” an anonymous employee said.
An employee from the meat department came over to end the attack between the two employees, the website’s sources said.
The victim was taken to the University Hospital in Newark to be treated for her injuries and is in stable condition, the CTPD said Monday.
Prince was charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, according to the CTPD, which said she is being held in jail until she has a hearing.
