D.C. police injured in car accident

A D.C. police cruiser collided with another vehicle today, sending three people to the hospital with injuries.

Police said two officers in a police car were on their way to assist U.S. park police when they collided with another vehicle around 12:22 p.m. at the corner of 9th Street and Upshur Avenue NW.

An ambulance took both officers and the driver of the other car to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the other car was unhurt.

Police are still investigating the accident and do not yet know which driver was at fault.
