Scott Walker to speak at GOP convention

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has accepted an invitation to speak at the Republican National Convention later this month.

Walker, who ran unsuccessfully for the Republican presidential nomination, confirmed that he will speak at the convention to WKOW at an event in Platteville, Wis., Tuesday morning.

According to Channel 3000, Walker also said that Trump would be better for the country than presumed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The convention, in which presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump is slated to accept his nomination, kicks off July 18 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Walker, who had previously endorsed Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign in March, has not been an enthusiastic supporter of Trump. He had previously pledged to support the Republican nominee regardless of who that was, but in June he lamented that there are “such poor choices” in this election cycle.
