PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The Rhode Island Senate has approved three more of Gov. Lincoln Chafee’s picks to join the Economic Development Corp. board.

The Senate voted Tuesday to confirm the nominations of Judith Diaz, Elizabeth Francis and Oscar Hebert.

Diaz is the director of community health for the Lifespan hospital chain. Francis is the director of the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. Hebert is chairman and president of Atrion Networking Corp.

Chafee announced his nominations last month. All his picks for the EDC board are subject to Senate confirmation.

The EDC has struggled with vacancies following its failed $75 million loan guarantee to former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling’s bankrupt video game company, 38 Studios.
