Baltimore City native among Cosmopolitan?s sexiest bachelors

Name: Ade Smith

Sign: Sagittarius

Status: Single. But perhaps not for long.

Smith is among 50 men, one from each state, gracing the pages of the Cosmopolitan magazine and vying for its Bachelor of the Year.

“It will help accentuate my social life,” the 24-year-old semifinalist said of the contest.

The winner will be selected Tuesday.

The Baltimore City native lives up the street from his parents, who are still in his childhood home.

He graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School and Widener College in Chester, Pa., and is studying to be a certified public accountant while working as an accountant full time.

If that wasn?t enough, he sells real estate at night and on the weekend.

“Normally, Saturday nights are off-limits, because I get up early and go to church [on Sunday],” he said.

Smith said he wants a solid career and enough money in the bank before walking down the aisle.

“I date constantly, but I haven?t gotten to a place where I can settle down,” he said.

This leaves just a couple Fridays a month for him to hit the Fells Point scene, particularly The Red Star on Wolfe Street.

His sister Tehma Smith, 27, nominated him. Ade Smith?s status as one of the nation?s “sexiest single dudes,” as Cosmo calls them, will allow him to have fun and get some interest from the opposite sex, she said.

The Cosmopolitan Web site allows readers to e-mail each bachelor, and Smith said he has gotten about 20 messages.
