I had to wrestle with this cartoon a bit to get it to work the way I wanted it to. I toyed with labeling the UFO “Illegal Immigration” or “Illegal Aliens.” Ultimately, I’m not completely happy with the end result, but I think the cartoon works just fine. I wanted it to be funny and still have a point: That local jurisdictions’ attempts to combat illegal immigration won’t make much of a dent when what’s needed is real reform on the national level.
