Corey Lewandowski, campaign manager to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, said he would not change anything about his candidate’s campaign style.
“I’d never want to change Donald Trump,” Lewandowski told MSNBC moments after being notified Trump had won all five Republican primaries on Tuesday.
“Look, you have a well-rounded candidate who can speak to a smaller crowd in a private setting or a large, rambunctious crowd, and he has the ability to excel in both,” he added.
While the GOP front-runner has relied more on teleprompters and toned down his rhetoric in certain speaking settings, Lewandowski said they will continue to “let Trump be Trump,” but always cater toward the crowd they are addressing. The top aide said Trump’s policy comments at a rally of 10,000 people will be a different sort of address than the victory speech Tuesday night.
Trump won the April 26 primaries in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. The next GOP primary is Indiana on May 3 and is expected to be a close race between Sen. Ted Cruz and Trump, who has snagged wins in 27 states to date.
