Eric Trump sells father as candidate ‘who does not need this job’

CLEVELAND Donald Trump’s son Eric urged voters Wednesday night to head into the election ready to make the choice between Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and his father, who he described as “the one candidate who does not need the job.”

Speaking here at the Republican National Convention, where his father was officially named the GOP’s nominee, Eric Trump said it would be easy for Donald Trump to remain a wealthy real estate developer, but said he “chose to bring the American Dream back to the people it has eluded for so long.”

“It’s time for a president who can make America great again, ahead of schedule and under budget, too,” said Trump.

The speech was delivered one day before his father is set to close out the sometimes-contentious convention, which was briefly disrupted by delegates who were still holding out for a chance to derail Trump’s ascent as the nominee.

Trump’s family has played a prominent roll in the prime-time speaker lineup at the event.
