Air Force Gen. Allison Hickey of the Department of Veteran Affairs will visit Mt. Vernon Woods Elementary School in Alexandria on Wednesday as part of “Take a Veteran to School Day,” sponsored by the History Channel. One hundred Virginia schools and 5,000 schools nationwide are expected to participate in the day, which will come with educational materials and a Veterans Day video produced with the U.S. Department of Education.
