Sunday talk show preview: Preet Bharara has first TV interview since Trump fired him

Fresh off hearing ousted FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last week, Preet Bharara will appear in his first television interview, Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” since being fired as former U.S. attorney by President Trump.

Bharara has been a vocal critic of the president since he and 46 other U.S. attorneys were let go by the Trump administration in March. He sent out a live-tweet during the Comey hearing on Thursday, which he attended, responding to Comey saying at one point about possible recordings of his private conversation with Trump, “Lordy, I hope there are tapes!” Bharara then took to Twitter to interject his own one-liner: “We can all agree with Jim Comey that, Lordy, we hope there are tapes.”

Rounding out “This Week” will be Senate Judiciary Committee member Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Senate Intelligence Committee member Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. They are expected to discuss next steps in the congressional and federal investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will make an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” Last week Schumer challenged Trump to reveal if any tapes do in fact exist after it was Trump himself who initiated speculation about it when he teased on Twitter last month that if there were any tapes they could be bad for Comey. “President Trump: If you disagree with anything the Director said today, play the tapes for all of America to hear. Or admit that there are no tapes,” Schumer said on the Senate floor.

Here is the rundown on the five main Sunday morning shows:
