PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A vacant 70,000-square-foot manufacturing complex in Federal Hill is poised to undergo a $5 million renovation.
Providence officials say The Omni Group will turn the former C.J. Fox Co. complex into upscale offices. The real estate firm bought the property at 2 Fox Place for more than $1.6 million.

The complex consists of four buildings on more than two acres of land. It was formerly owned by C.J. Fox, which manufactured tags and boxes for the fashion jewelry industry.
Mayor Angel Taveras (tuh-VEHR’-us), Economic Development Director James Bennett and company executives announced the purchase and development plan on Thursday. The mayor says the complex will be turned into a “vibrant new center of commerce.”
