NEW YORK (AP) — The NYPD is investigating the death of a man found bound and gagged in his East Harlem apartment.
The 59-year-old victim was discovered in his bed by his home health aide Thursday morning. Police say his feet and hands were bound with phone cord and a towel was wrapped around his neck.
Neighbors say Milton Ortiz had lived in his first-floor walkup on East 126th Street for decades.
They say he was very friendly and everyone knew him.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
