The Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance recently sent out a blast e-mail bashing Arlington County Board member Chris Zimmerman’s criticism of the planned high occupancy toll lanes project on I-95/395.
Zimmerman told The Washington Examiner: “”The result [of building HOT Lanes] will be more cars on everybody’s streets, slower moving traffic and more air pollution.”
The alliance e-mail refuted Zimmerman’s statements: “Mr. Zimmerman’s ‘logic’ is reminiscent of the party’s three slogans in George Orwell’s 1984 – ‘WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.’”
“Arlington’s Opposition Doesn’t Make Sense,” the e-mail concluded.
