The Fitzgerald Auto Malls announced that their Maryland dealerships will be the first automobile dealers in America to become “Green Power Partners” with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Fitzgerald will go “green” by purchasing wind power for 100 percent of its electricity needs.

The transition is expected to go into effect in May. Fitzgerald has signed a contract with Pepco Energy Services to switch all of its Maryland dealerships from electricity generated by conventional power sources to 100 percent green-e certified wind power.

To celebrate the switch, all Fitzgerald dealers will give away energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs on Friday.
