Stephanie Ruhle will succeed Brian Williams on The 11th Hour, MSNBC announced Thursday.
The veteran journalist, who currently anchors MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle and MSNBC Live with Velshi & Ruhle, will take over Williams’s former show, which airs weeknights at 11 p.m. The network’s Morning Joe will also expand into a fourth hour to take over Ruhle’s previous slot, according to NBC.

“Since joining MSNBC in 2016, Stephanie has been a staple of our dayside anchor team and a trusted voice on topics at the intersection of politics, finance and international business,” MSNBC President Rashida Jones said.
Prior to MSNBC, Ruhle served in several roles for Bloomberg News including as anchor and managing editor.
Following the announcement, Morning Joe, anchored by Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist, will now run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Williams landed at The 11th Hour in 2015 after he was demoted from hosting NBC Nightly News following a six-month suspension and investigation into exaggerated statements he made while covering the Iraq War in 2003. The anchor said he was aboard a U.S. military plane that was shot down by a rocket-propelled grenade, a statement later deemed untrue.
In December, Williams signed off from The 11th Hour one last time, ending his 28-year stint with the network. He did not elaborate on his decision to leave, saying only, “There are many things I want to do, and I’ll pop up again somewhere.”
