Do you hate answering those annoying job interview questions? (“What is my biggest weakness? Um, is being too awesome a weakness?”) Or do you wish a giant hole would just swallow you up right there in the interview room?
Well, we’re pretty sure the District’s higher-than-the-national-average unemployment rate isn’t due to the fact that the city is home to a high number of fearful interviewees, but the University of Phoenix Washington D.C. Campus is still trying to do its part to help out.
On Mar. 28, the school is hosting a Informational Interviewing Workshop on how to network in your professional and social circles to find job opportunities that fit your professional strengths and experiences. The workshop will also show folks how to “prepare for and conduct a memorable and effective interview to leave a lasting impression with hiring managers.” In other words, you can call it the free, “How to Nail Your Interview and Feel Like a Rock Star” workshop.
Where: University of Phoenix Washington D.C. Campus, 25 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
When: Wednesday, Mar. 28, 6 – 8 p.m.
Last month, D.C.’s unemployment rate ticked down to 9.9 percent, the first time it dipped to single digits in 29 consecutive months.
