Several buildings at Yale University were evacuated Friday afternoon after multiple bomb threats were reported, according to authorities.
Yale Police Chief Ronnell Higgins said during a 4 p.m. press conference that a single caller announced several different bomb threats in several facilities.
Evacuated students were moved inside a safe facility, Higgins said. He added that authorities are still trying to determine if the buildings are safe.
The Yale Police Department is asking that the public not approach the university until given the all-clear.
Both the Yale and New Haven police departments rushed to the scene out of an abundance of caution, Yale Daily News reported.

Students and faculty were told to leave the buildings and gather by the New Haven Green.
The buildings evacuated so far include University Theater, Jonathan Edwards College, the Yale Art Gallery, Vanderbilt Hall, Bingham Hall, Welch Hall, and Grace Hopper college, according to a 2:35 p.m. Yale Alert.

The Old Campus was blocked off for traffic and pedestrians.
The New Haven Police Department did not immediately return a request for comment from the Washington Examiner.
