FAA Inspected and Approved

I arrived at the office today without any clue as to what I was going to draw about. Usually when that happens, I scramble during the remainder of the workday trying to squeeze an ounce of inspiration out of a brain that feels like petrified wood. However, as I began my routine of reading news sites and scribbling in my sketchbook, I realized I’d forgotten about the recent FAA/airlines news. Three or four ideas immediatelypopped into my head, easing my anxiety quite a bit. Originally, this cartoon concept took place on a tarmac, with a passenger deboarding a plane saying a variation of the “On the bright side …” comment. After a while, I decided the image wasn’t striking enough, so I reworked it into this final version.
