David Letterman: Trump is ‘a man without a soul’

Former “The Late Show” host David Letterman doesn’t regret having Donald Trump on his old talk show, but is not a fan of job done by the man who would later become president.

“I’m disappointed that this man is representing me and my country. It makes me sick,” Letterman said in a GQ interview published this week.

He admitted that when Trump was slated to appear on his show, which he left in 2015, he didn’t mind having Trump as a guest.

“He was a great guest. He was just a big, wealthy dope who’d come on, and we would make fun of his hair. I would refer to him as a slumlord,” Letterman said. “But now, this goon … I don’t know. He’s demonstrated himself to be a man without a core, a man without a soul. Is there a guy in there?”

This isn’t the first time Letterman has had some harsh words for Trump this year.

The comedian said in March that if he were still host of “The Late Show” and had Trump on as a guest he would give him a “scolding.”
